Technology eats social life

Technology these days is so advanced that you can have anything and almost everything at your fingertips. For example with a smartphone, you can google for best makan place, download discount coupons, etc. Catching up with a friend can be through a phone call or text messages. You can know what your friends' are up to through Twitter or Facebook.

Do you realise that when friends are hanging out, most of them are so engrossed with their phones more than their friends. Even though they are communicating with one another but you can't get their full attention because part of it is with their phones.

It kind of piss me a little because I like it when I talk to people, I have their full attention and eye contact. I like the attention and it makes me feel that they actually care.

But am someone like that sometimes, sadly.

Don't you love it when someone misses you, he doesn't write on your wall on Facebook, mention you on Twitter, write you an email, webcam with you through Skype and but actually come and find you.

I love the effort people make just to show you how much they care.

So why not join me and try putting your phones away when you're with a friend or someone special to let them know, "hey I actually enjoy your company and I don't need my phone to entertain me."
